Luminaria Event Returns December 14th

In honor of the Winter Solstice and the Holiday Season, our Gannondale Neighborhood Association is again sponsoring a Luminaria Display on Sunday, December 14th beginning at 6pm.

Luminaria are paper bags that each contain a small votive candle and are weighted down by sand. A row of lighted bags is placed along your front sidewalk (about 5 feet apart) and also up the walk to your house, if you wish. When many houses have luminaria displays at the same time at night, the neighborhood looks beautiful! It can be a wonderful time to have friends or neighbors over, go caroling, or just take a winter stroll and enjoy our lovely neighborhood by candlelight. We hope to count on your participation this year!

Those who have placed orders can pick up luminaria supplies on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 13 BETWEEN 9 and 11 AM at Greg and Sharyn Koob's house: 7562 Cornell (726-6450)

Gannondale Students Looking for Work

Daniel and Jeff Bass (sons of Wayne Bass - 7553 Cornell) are looking for opportunities to earn money for their college expenses.

Daniel and Jeff will be available during spring break (March 19th through March 29th) and summer 2009. They have already worked for people in our neighborhood doing landscaping projects, lawn mowing and leaf removal, garage and basement cleaning, light construction/demolition, and the like. They are conscientious hard workers, contribute to our neighborhood, and would very much appreciate the opportunity to earn some college money. You can reach them at their dad's (Wayne's) phone : 727-6889. Daniel's phone number is 503-2104 and Jeff's is 368-8373.
